Classic Salmon and Trout Flies
of Europe and the Americas
Ken Lea -- "Salmon Flies from the U.K."

I was born & bred in Barnoldswick a small town in Yorkshire close to the Yorkshire Dales.I married my lovely wife Ann in 1962 we have two children four grandchildren & one great grandchild. We now live in Silloth on Solway in north Cumbria where we have been for just three & half years.

I started tying flies in 1988, then joined The Fly Dressers Guild at a newly formed branch in Barnoldswick and served as secretary for several years. I enjoy going to fly dressing demo's and admire the many tyers who give their time to show their tying skills to others - we learn a lot from them. I have had more time to enjoy our hobby since I retired eight years ago. I get a lot of pleasure from my hobby and enjoy all aspects of tying flies. My favourite day out for fly tying is the British Fly Fair. It is well worth the visit. (I spend most of the day watching on fly tyers row).

[Editor's note: Barnoldswick is often cited as the largest town in the British Isles not to be served by any A-roads. Also, although Ken was born in Yorkshire, the town is now in Lancashire. Oh, the humanity!]
